KDevelop reports that the latest version of gdb is too old

The current version of KDevelop (4.4.1) is reporting that gdb is too old while it is actually the latest version (7.5.1). Also, it is freezing when debugging is activated. My guess is that there is some trouble with parsing the version string or something in that manner. Is there any known way to fix it or I should report it as a bug?

Any help would be highly appreciated.
