|
|
Hi,
I'd like to update my Portage Tree, but I don't have Internet access at home so I can't do "emerge sync". I downloaded snapshot file (portage-[date].tar.gz) at work, but I'm not sure how to "apply it". Will be simply unpacking this file into /usr enough? Or should I do some additional work, or should I do it in the totally different way??!!
Please, help me!! |

Straight from the install docs:
Quote: | Code listing 8.3: Using Portage snapshot
Replace yyyymmdd with the datestamp in the filename.
# tar -xvjf /mnt/cdrom/snapshots/portage-yyyymmdd.tar.bz2 -C /mnt/gentoo/usr |
Try have a read of the install docs, they've been updated since 1.4 official was released. |
