loic430,

Welcome to Gentoo. Please use English in the main forum.

Your message just says "it failed" without saying where. We need the
Code:
The complete build log is located at '/var/tmp/portage/sys-boot/grub-2.02_beta2-r2/temp/build.log'.
to see what happened.
As that is a fairly large file, please use wgetpast to put it onto a pastebin site

I can't help you with your error but would caution that once you are able to emerge double check your grub config file before rebooting especially if you have any special conditions. When my world update upgraded to this version it borked mine keeping from booting. Had to fix it using Rescue CD.

I got this when updating:

Can't locate Locale/gettext.pm in @INC (you may need to install the Locale::gettext module) (@INC contains: /etc/perl /usr/local/lib64/perl5/5.18.2/x86_64-linux /usr/local/lib64/perl5/5.18.2 /usr/lib64/perl5/vendor_perl/5.18.2/x86_64-linux /usr/lib64/perl5/vendor_perl/5.18.2 /usr/local/lib64/perl5 /usr/lib64/perl5/vendor_perl /usr/lib64/perl5/5.18.2/x86_64-linux /usr/lib64/perl5/5.18.2 .) at /usr/bin/help2man line 28.
BEGIN failed--compilation aborted at /usr/bin/help2man line 28.

What package is Locale::gettext?

Package gettext is installed thought?

Regards
Markku

Locale::gettext belongs to dev-perl/Locale-gettext

Seems that You update dev-lang/perl but don't update perl packages. So You should run: perl-cleaner --reallyall.

I had the same problem with the original poster with updating grub2. Running the grub-cleaner as listed in toralf's post fixed the problem for me. I only needed to fix a compile conflict between openssli and kerberos flagged by the cleaner before running my update world again.

Thanks guys!
