hi there,

i am using vlc to play VOB & DTS files. the passthrough works.

now i got some wav files with dts. the problem is that the sound somehow has got errors. i can recognize the song but it sounds distorted.

i had a short look at VLC useflags but there are so many of them. i need you to point out the one that could be missing to play the files. i tried renaming the wav to dts but that did not help.

Code:
Installed versions:  2.0.5(11:50:21 01/11/13)(X a52 aac aalib alsa avcodec avformat dbus dts dvb dvbpsi dvd elibc_glibc encode ffmpeg flac gcrypt gnome jack live matroska mmx mp3 mpeg musepack ncurses ogg opengl oss postproc pulseaudio qt4 sse swscale theora vorbis wma-fixed x264 xcb -altivec -atmo -audioqueue -avahi -bidi -bluray -cdda -cddb -dc1394 -debug -dirac -direct2d -directfb -directx -dshow -dxva2 -egl -fbosd -fluidsynth -fontconfig -gme -gnutls -growl -httpd -ieee1394 -ios-vout -kate -kde -libass -libcaca -libnotify -libproxy -libsamplerate -libtar -libtiger -linsys -lirc -lua -macosx -macosx-audio -macosx-dialog-provider -macosx-eyetv -macosx-qtkit -macosx-quartztext -macosx-vout -media-library -modplug -mtp -neon -omxil -optimisememory -opus -png -portaudio -projectm -pvr -rtsp -run-as-root -samba -schroedinger -sdl -sdl-image -shine -shout -sid -skins -speex -sqlite -svg -switcher -taglib -truetype -twolame -udev -upnp -v4l -vaapi -vcdx -vlm -waveout -win32codecs -wingdi -xml -xosd -xv -zvbi)

thanks a lot in advance for any reasonable suggestion...

http://wiki.videolan.org/VLC_configure_help

--enable-dca option seems very attractive

sounded promising, but further looking into my useflags could have saved some time :) the enable-dca option (DTS Coherent Acoustics support with libdca) is the same option that is pulled in by the DTS useflag.. (gentoo-wiki : dts Enables libdts (DTS Coherent Acoustics decoder) support)

and as you can see in my above post, dts is already in my useflags

but thank you anyways, anymore suggestions ?

try to test it via smplayer ( mplayer gui) to see if problem is in vlc or not.
