I have a little problem with my winxp/ gentoo linux box.
The following problem occurs:
I boot gentoo and use X/KDE. I have to restart for booting WinXP (For Warcraft3 ).
Now all monitor settings for XP are gone, the screen is centered and only 70% of its normal size.
After a power down my computer is running normal.
(If I power down between the change to XP all is normal, too)
So does X writes something into my monitor or gfx-card (ATI radeon) and if so, how can I disable this feature ?? |

That is odd. I haven't noticed this problem when restarting to Windows without poweroff. I don't play games though. _________________ Quis separabit? Quo animo? |

I have seen this happen before. It is usually due to running both desktops at the same resolution and bit depth. It drove me batty till I figured that out.
I had a pc dual booting Nix and windows and both were set to use 1024x468 16 bit color. The monitor "remebers" your settings for a particular resolution and color depth. I was going batty trying to figure out what was going on.
Try changing the bitdepth that nix uses as a default and see if that helps.
ie have nix at 1024x768 24 and windows at 1024x768 16..... _________________ Boricua Hasta La Muerte |
