I tried to update my system the other day and now when I try to emerge anything gcc gives an error.

configure: error: in `/var/tmp/portage/sys-devel/gcc-4.6.3/work/build':
configure: error: C compiler cannot create executables |
After doing some research the gcc profile is broken I take it. so when I do
| Code: | #gcc-config -l
* gcc-config: Active gcc profile is invalid!

Thats all I get I cant even do gcc-config 1.
| Code: | livecd gcc # ls /etc/env.d/gcc/
config-i686-pc-linux-gnu |
Its as if gcc is no longer on my system.
Anyone have any ideas? |

Does equery l sys-devel/gcc return anything
