|
|
I just installed gentoo base system this monday. But every time I try to install synaptics driver portage ask to install X11 and a lot of dependencies related to X11. I would use gpm to enable the touchpad in console, but first I need a a touchpad driver ( unique I know is synaptic...).

Code: | emerge gpm
rc-update add gpm default | assuming you have synaptic in your kernel
you do not need x11-drivers/xf86-input-synaptics for your console UI, it is as named an X driver _________________ Defund the FCC. |

I added this line in my /etc/make.conf
Code: | INPUT_DEVICES="evdev keyboard mouse synaptics" |
According to the wiki http://en.gentoo-wiki.com/wiki/Laptop#Touchpad_Configuration
Then I followed your tip and now its working. Thanks!
