Flashplayer starts up at top volume

Hi all,

I'm not sure why, but whenever I view a video on youtube it always starts at the highest volume setting. This is in despite the fact that I have the volume set lower in alsamixer and for other purposes, e.g. using mplayer. The problem started fairly recently, but I cannot diagnose what's going on. I have not made any major changes to my set-up. I do have greasemonkey installed as a plugin.
