By the way, I did update Gentoo on another PC at the same time, and everything works well. But on my laptop, it can't work, and "* (no error message)", so I know not how to solve it. Hope anyone can help me.

Thanks

I get the same on my 64-bit system. -j1 and reemerging gcc/emerge doesn't help.

I had this same problem earlier today. I just resync'd and now it's compiling successfully.

This actually happened to be a solution.

I actually happen to be amazed. I'm brand new to the Gentoo distribution and sighed when this problem came up today. Can't believe I saw a solution turned around this fast. Cool.
