Dear all,
I have two questions regarding the new fork of udev. First, on what version of udev is it based on?
My Gentoo is running in an openvz / parallels container and unfortunately STRATO (the company that owns the server) is not updating the kernel to at least a 2.6.32 kernel (they will do it eventually). That's why I still use udev-141-r1 on my system because it is still compatible with the openvz kernel 2.6.18-028stab091.2. Of course, one can argue using udev is overkill in such scenarios but honestly I do not want to create /dev/urandom etc. on my own so I would like to stick to udev/eudev.
So here comes my second question: Does eudev work with such an old kernel? Or do I have to migrate to mdev? And does someone have a nice reading hint (I found [1] already)
Thanks in advance for your help.
