Hello, I recently purchased a ThinkPad Helix and I decided I wanted to see if I could get the accelerometer working on it. Because this is a very new model, it doesn't use the traditional hdaps compatible accelerometer that the extra thinkpad drivers in the kernel have support for, instead the accelerometer on the machine is a STMicroelectronics LSM303DHLC chip that's attached to the system via the i2c bus. I have found drivers in the kernel tree that are supposedly compatible with this type of accelerometer, however after I built the modules into the kernel I did not see the accelerometer come up, in addition absolutely nothing was mentioned in dmesg about the accelerometer. I've scanned every single i2c adapter and SMBUS adapter using i2cdetect, and have looked through the dumps of all the addresses that came up. None of them seemed to change when I changed the orientation of my laptop. Of course, I might be doing this wrong since I've never worked with an i2c bus device before, but I guess I'll find out.
I should also note that the accelerometer works perfectly on the Windows 8 installation I have on here, but I have no idea how to go about figuring out where on the i2c bus the accelerometer is being picked up from on windows.
If you need any more information regarding my system configuration just let me know, and thanks ahead of time for the help.
