Hello

I've installed gentoo using gentoo's cd, but when i finished my instalation and reboot the system erros appers. I can see that there are erros during the boot time, but its too fast that I cant read. All that I try to edit, I cant, allways the system says "System files only for read".

When I use rc-config show:
devfs, dmesg, sysfs, udev and udev-mount they are all stopped.

A message that appers after boot time is. "This is (none) (Linux x86_64 3.6.11), I removed the ". \O" from /etc/issue and my hostname is "caaarlos-pc", why it not appears?

I trid to install 2 times e the same error appers. What can it be? How can I see my boot log?

Thanks, waiting for anwsers.

boot cd
run fsck on each partition
mount the gentoo partitions and enter the chroot
ensure menuconfig has:
Quote:
Device Drivers --->
Generic Driver Options --->
[*] Maintain a devtmpfs filesystem to mount at /dev
[*] Automount devtmpfs at /dev, after the kernel mounted the rootfs
File systems --->
[*] Dnotify support
[*] Inotify support for userspace
Pseudo filesystems --->
-*- /proc file system support
[*] /proc/kcore support
[*] Tmpfs virtual memory file system support (former shm fs)
[*] Tmpfs POSIX Access Control Lists
-*- Tmpfs extended attributes
[*] HugeTLB file system support
<*> Userspace-driven configuration filesystem
If changes were required recompile and recopy kernel.
exit chroot and reboot gentoo.

Code:
dmesg
edit /etc/rc.conf to include
Quote:
rc_logger="YES"
then read /var/log/rc.log after a boot.
