I'm at a loss, usually I just drop in the .so file into the plugin directory and it works but this time about:plugins is not seeing it

Change to Firefox plugins directory:
i.e. /opt/firefox/plugins
Create link to java JRE plugin file:
ln -s /opt/sun-jdk-1.5.0.08/jre/plugin/i386/ns7/libjavaplugin_oji.so
(ensure that the location is correct or browser will bomb!) |

Thanks that did it. I don't understand why gentoo had to go change the location of the plugin dir from the standard. |
