|
|
I've been trying to set up a default directory for file saving filesb in
Gedit 2.30.4, and failing. Until recently Gedit had a standard
window attached to the Save menu entry, which defaulted to the
user's home directory and had a button to expand the window to
cover other directories. Now it produces a huge all-encompassing
window with all the directories immediately visible and no default.
Does anyone know a way of getting back the old behaviour, or even
a default directory? It must be a library change, since Gedit's
version number is unaltered. Gedit's a nice editor, and the change
is pretty annoying, so I'll rebuild it if necessary.
Thanks - Will |

As far as I know, none of the Gnome (or other GTK-based) applications generate their file dialogs, they are all based on the GtkFileChooserDialog, which is part of GTK.
I don't know if it's possible to set a default folder, but at least you can create shortcuts to your favorites. _________________ lxg.de – codebits and tech talk |
