Hi all. When I uDav world today I got this peculiar error:

Code:
The following keyword changes are necessary to proceed:
#required by kde-base/pykde4-4.9.4, required by @selected, required by @world (argument)
=dev-lang/python-3.2.3-r2 ~amd64

The following mask changes are necessary to proceed:
#required by kde-base/pykde4-4.9.4, required by @selected, required by @world (argument)
# /usr/portage/profiles/package.mask:
# MichaŠGórny <mgorny@gentoo.org> (30 Nov 2012)
# Mask the cleaned up (-r1) Python ebuilds for testing.
=dev-lang/python-3.2.3-r2

this appears to me to be insane - anyone know what is going on?

Well, I'd start by trying:

Code:
emerge --autounmask n -uDav world

It probably won't help but portage tends to give better messages without autounmask feature.

In order to help us debug the problem, please attach as well the output of:

Code:
emerge --info

and:

Code:
emerge -1vp python:2.7

(or the Python version you expect if it's not 2.7)

thanks for the reply; but I think the problem stems from an
upgrade to setuptools. Specifically,

dev-python/setuptools was using python_targets_python3_2

once I set it to -python_targets_python3_2 everything
worked as expected ...

I'm assuming and hoping that this will not have any ancilliary negative
impacts
