I am trying to set up my multimedia keys but they don't seem to be responsive.
First I checked to see if they were already working. No luck there so I went by the tutorial here (en.gentoo-wiki.com/wiki/Multimedia_Keys) which tells me to determine the keycodes. I tried to do that using xev and showkey and neither showed me any output for the multimedia keys (they still give output for the other keys).
So I went to try to find the raw key codes using getscancodes and it didn't show any output for the multimedia keys but still showed output for the other keys.
I also tried to do USE="keymap" emerge udev and keymap -i /dev/input/event3 to no avail. |

nszeek,
That suggests that either your multimedia keys do not generate scancodes, which is unlikely or Xorg needs some help to detect your keyboard correctly. _________________ Regards,
