I'm running skype 4.1.0.20. The option menu shows "Display pop-up notification", but that is grayed out. There is an option to "Execute the following script", but I have no idea what to put in a script that would allow me to see who is calling. Has anyone managed to get the pop-up to work, or know how to write a script that would give this functionality? I know some people have had problems with dual monitors, but I have a single monitor. I'm running an xfce4 desktop if that makes a difference. There was time in the past when this worked, and then it worked every once in awhile, now never! Thanks,
Fred

I have it working and I believe it makes use of separate notification libraries that are not mentioned in the ebuild. I'm sorry I don't recall which ones but I think that if you install them separately it will function correctly. _________________ Linux, the OS for the obsessive-compulsive speed freak in all of us. |

I came across this: http://www.makeuseof.com/tag/skype-libnotify-linux/
So under options/notifications, highlighting "Incoming Call Ringing", and then then clicking on advanced, I put this Quote: | notify-send "Skype Call" "%sname is calling" -i skype | No calls yet, but a simple test seems to indicate that this works. |
