I have been trying to get my Toshiba Satellite Pro 4600 with mini-PCI wireless up and running. I have tried every tip and suggestion on the forum and still nothing. I am running the r6 of 2.4.20 kernel, and have pcmcia-cs and wlan-ng installed as well.
At boot time, the device is found and initializes for a few seconds once pcmcia is loaded. Then the device shuts down. I am not able to access it via iwconfig, although I can see the device via lspci and cardctl info:
sisko grub # cardctl info
PRODID_1="TOSHIBA"
PRODID_2="Wireless LAN Card"
PRODID_3="Version 01.01"
PRODID_4=""
MANFID=0156,0002
FUNCID=6
PRODID_1=""
PRODID_2=""
PRODID_3=""
PRODID_4=""
MANFID=0000,0000
FUNCID=255
PRODID_1=""
PRODID_2=""
PRODID_3=""
PRODID_4=""
MANFID=0000,0000
FUNCID=255
And still nothing... So any pointers would be greatly appreciated. |

what do your logs say, either kernel, dmesg etc?
Why does it say it's shutting down? |

have you tried restarting the device using the pcmcia tools?
(sorry, can't figure out the command right now - I'm sitting in front of a desktop box) |
