|

So sometimes, when I mount my usb, it works. Then when I try to unmount, I get this error:
Code: | umount: /mnt/sdb1: device is busy.
(In some cases useful info about processes that use
the device is found by lsof(8) or fuser(1))
|
And I can unmount it. But normally, I'll just take remove my usb anyway. So when I try to remount it, I get an error saying that /mnt/sdb1 is busy or that /mnt/sdb1 does not exist. |

Usually the error means that a program has still opened files from your usb drive. did you check with lsof to see what program has files opened from your usb drive? You can terminate the program and then you will be able to unmount the flash drive.
Regarding the mounting error /dev/sdb1 does not exists, try /dev/sdc1, sometimes the kernel will attach the drive to the /dev/sdc1 if the /dev/sdb is still in use. |
