Fist off I just started using konqueror as my main browser. and for some reason web pages a loading so much slower compared to other browers (chrome, firefox). I thought maybe and ipv6 issue, but my isp fully supports ipv6, and flash video don't work, i've install flash-player and scanned for plugins in konqueror. |

Compared to other browsers, Konqueror is slow -- see the Browser Speed table on the following page:
http://www.computerworld.com/s/article/9243574/5_lesser_known_browsers_Free_lightweight_and_low_maintenance?taxonomyId=169
Konqueror runs faster than before if it uses the Webkit rendering engine rather than the KHTML rendering engine:
http://digitizor.com/2010/08/12/how-much-faster-is-konqueror-with-webkit/
If you want to configure Konqueror to use the WebKit rendering engine instead of the KHTML rendering engine, click on 'Settings' on the Konqueror menu bar, select 'Configure Konqueror…' and click on 'General'. You'll see 'Default web browser engine' in the right pane. Select 'WebKit' and click 'OK'. You'll also need to have WebKit itself installed, of course. I have the packages qtwebkit (the WebKit module for the Qt toolkit) and kwebkitpart (a WebKit KPart for Konqueror) installed. _________________ Clevo W230SS: amd64, VIDEO_CARDS="intel modesetting nvidia".

Strange I swithed from Archlinux months ago and never was konqueror slow a loading webpages, and I've always used webkit, but now on gentoo and a different kde version, so maybe it could be this version of konqueror, but I doubt it. There has to be somthing else wrong with my system |

Can you define "slower" precisely? For example, choose a few Web pages that Konqueror loads more slowly than you expected, and then use a Website speed tester to check the load time, and post the results here. Do the same with e.g. Firefox on the same machine so that you have a benchmark. Then I'll do the same on my machine to see if the performance on your machine is especially bad. _________________ Clevo W230SS: amd64, VIDEO_CARDS="intel modesetting nvidia".

Are you sure you have got kde-misc/kwebkitpart installed? Flash won't work without that installed. YouTube works fine in Konqueror 4.12.0 for me (once I have selected the plugin: Settings > Configure Konqueror.. > Plugins > Plugins > Scan for Plugins > Apply > OK).

kwebkitpart is installed, and I tried a different route to my slow loading issue, and its pretty slow, I grabbed linux mint kde which has 4.11.2 and konqueror on that is super fast at loading pages, so it seems the problem is somewhere else in my system i.e kernel, configs, If you got any ideas let me know |
