Hey,
on a fresh installed System Gnome 3.8 doesn't work with the second screen. The second screen is black. The left screen is working fine. The Mouse on the right screen is working. This is a cross. But there is no function, when I click on the right screen. My Profile ist default/linux/amd64/13.0/desktop/gnome/systemd *. Installed is the x11-drivers/nvidia-drivers-331.20. x11-base/xorg-server-1.14.3-r2. I installed nvidia-settings and use the produced xorg.conf from this application. There isn't ..../xorg.conf.d only one xorg.conf on the system in /etc/X11/ : Code: |

Hi, have you tried configuring with nvidia-settings?
The command on my box is nvidia-settings and it is a gui which runs. this is a starting point.
I just have read recently this, it is a different desctop environment but it applies for your nvidia too. http://i3wm.org/docs/multi-monitor.html It explains things quite well. |

work for both screens.

xrandr? | TwinView and Xinerama are disabled. I read the trouble about
nvidia-drivers. I'm upset have to bought nvidia cards.
O.k i don't knew it is possible to start gnome without xrandr. I disable it with /org/gnome ..../ xrandr/active false and take a look with gui dconf-editor: Nothing changed without xrandr. The right side is black.
If i switch to the historic gnome 2 both screens works.
