Hello!
Tryed to install samba and got error message:
>>> Downloading 'http://ndevilla.free.fr/iniparser/iniparser3.0b.tar.gz'
2012-11-17 12:39:19 Error 404: Not Found.
!! Couldn't download 'iniparser3.0b.tar.gz'. Aborting.
This file really doesn't exists at http://ndevilla.free.fr/iniparser/. But iniparser-3.0.tar.gz exists.
How to workaround this issue? Should I update all the portage tree or may be only net-fs/samba?
I'm afraid to update all the tree because I never updated portage tree since gentoo was installed (five monthes ago). Could this update break all the dependencies? |

You should update the Portage tree and then update all installed packages. You should do this at least once a month. Systems which have not been updated for an extended period become difficult to update. Five months is longer than I would like, but is probably new enough that you will not see any major problems this time. |

Thanks for reply.
Yes, I've updated a tree and installed samba client. Samba client works.
As for system update, I prefer full reinstallation instead of updating. Usually it is faster and easier than fixing errors raised during update. |
