PostPosted: Tue Nov 13, 2012 2:19 am    Post subject: [Work-around] Issue with x11-misc/notification-daemon Reply with quote

I am working on a system build and I encountered a problem with notification-daemon-0.5.0. I ended up unmasking it, which installed 0.7.6 successfully. This is meant to be more informational than anything. If anyone needs any additional info, let me know and I will post what I can give you. Otherwise I am going on. Thank you for listening. :)

I have exactly the same problem (and I did the same thing to solve it, unmasked 0.7.6). Did you ever have this happen on other packages?

I will say that I am using gcc 4.6.3 though. It is interesting that you are still on 4.5.4.

At the time the thread was opened, 4.5.4 was standard for stable systems. You resurrected a thread from several months ago.

Yes, I know. My apologies for resurrecting this. There seemed to be precious little information on this error in the forums or bugzilla (or google for that matter). I do think I found one of the source of this error this tonight, once I stopped assuming it was related to the new gcc.
