All indications are that this is an extremely close election. The most salient unknown is Democrat voter turnout, because of their severe drop in enthusiasm between 2008 and 2012. It could go either way.
People saying otherwise are either propagandists trying to influence the election via "self-fulfilling prophecy" tactics or are naive, ignorant propaganda victims themselves.
In the closely-contested battleground states, there could be long recounts and legal battles. It could be weeks before we know the outcome, which might come down to Justice Roberts doing a couple shots of Jack Daniels and flipping a coin. |
i voted slight obama.
This is on OTW poll. Nobody knows shit here other than what the polls say, and you are right as to the biggest unknown. That doesn't mean we shouldn't drip drivel from our pie holes. Of course, the right answer for anyone is "unsure", but what fun is that?
chill out man. drink a beer. your country is going down the toilet in either case. |

Okay, I have to get this off my chest and confess to somebody: I voted for Obama. I couldn't help it. I got in there and I was thinking, "What will happen to OTW if Obama loses? No more ragging on Obama?", and I made an impulse choice and filled in the oval next to his name and turned it in before I could change my mind. Ever since, I've been feeling uncontrollable remorse, but at least now I've told somebody. _________________

So, basically, president wins through Act of God. Obama comes twice to celebrate and two days later a bright light appears and he disappears into the clouds. Republicans take over with trumpet blasts and the dead walk. The undead J Edger Hoover is revealed to be the anti-Christ. Etc and &c. |

At the moment, realclearpolitics.com (the most unbiased source I know of), has called: popular_vote% (electoral ballots):
Obama/Biden 47.3% (78) Romney/Ryan 51.6% (88)
They are also showing Republicans leading in both Senate and House races:
Senate: Democrats 36 Republicans 38
House: Democrats 22 Republicans 52
It's too early for any numbers, regardless of source, to have much meaning, and I think a lot of people are just plain lying, in the belief that they can influence whether people vote or not. _________________
