So, a friend decided to hook me up with some non-controlled parts, and I decided to do the rest! :D

Screenshot: PNG, WebP

EDIT: Upper receiver came in the mail yesterday.

EDIT: Lower parts kit just got here.

EDIT: The rifle is now primarily assembled.

EDIT: Someone wanted to take video of me firing off four rounds.

What's the point?

The other parts are free to trade?

I googled AR15 to find out what it was. Apparently it's a big, pink gun that plays "YMCA" when you pull the trigger.

AR15 refers to a weapons platform. This one is going to look like this.

And the point is that they are fun to shoot. Also, gun crimes in my town seem to be on the rise.

My first thought was a distillery when I first read the thread title. :P

The AR is sweet. Shot my son in law's AK47 last spring. That was pretty cool.

I cannot comment on any combination of assault rifles and alcohol.

I thought you were building a radio controlled aircraft or something.

The self perpetuating stereotype trundles on. I fail to see how having that weapon is going to do much about gun crime. It's not exactly built to be stuffed down your pants for a late night milk run.

That weapon is for:

1. The happiness of staring at it on the wall.
2. Target practice here and there.
3. A home defense carbine.

Excluding #3, you can get the same pleasure from here: http://www.redwolfairsoft.com/redwolf/airsoft/AEG_AEP_Tokyo_Marui_M4_M16_Series_Tokyo_Marui_SR_16.htm

BTW, were you issued a service rifle when you were in?

That guy's an idiot. He wonders why the magazine doesn't hold the bolt back when it's empty. It would probably help if he didn't throw them on the ground.

Speaking of idiots...

The AR 15 Twinkie test.

Is that the "Hope and Change" one? I see that it is Palmetto State Armory, which IIRC is the company that makes that particular lower receiver.

If you don't have a gun safe, get a strong cable lock, and run it through the upper and lower receiver groups and around something immovable. Don't show it off; best if nobody knows you have it.

I know plenty of Marines who stopped what they were doing in a firefight to jam a twinkie in their rifle.

in short:

you lost your penis in a freak accident. Your balls receded back into your belly and you need something to compensate.

That doesnt count for former military. . in fact it doesnt count for anyone unless theyve added the grenade launcher attachment.

Nah, if I was compensating for something, I'd have a full-size M16A4. This one's a carbine. :)

Well at least it becomes impossible to blast your balls off.
