Sry for opening another suspension related topic, but after searching I didn't find any relevant information

Basically suspension broke after having worked flawlessly for a couple of years
I'm on a Sony Vaio VPCEA1S1E, with a radeon RV710 card
I'm using KDE as DE
I'm using the radeon xorg driver and don't want to switch to proprietary ATI one if possible
Basically everything seems to be working fine: I close the lid (or call suspension by GUI) and the laptop goes to sleep mode as usual, but when I wake it up from suspension it simply boots

Of course i'm having quite a hard time figuring out where the problem is
I performed a kernel update from 3.2.12 which was working to 3.4.9 and 3.5.7 which aren't
The thing is that now even if I boot the 3.2.12 suspension is broken

I didn't emerge new xf86-video-ati drivers: I'm using x11-drivers/xf86-video-ati-6.14.4-r1 since July and the laptop was working fine at that time

I performed a big KDE upgrade right before the problem appeared, but since the pc reboots when waking up I wouldn't know how to diagnose the problem and try to anil it down to KDE (which is my suspect ATM)

Any help would be appreciated
I already analyzed dmesg Xorg.0.log and messages, but nothing stands out
If you think they're necessary I can post them.

###EDIT###
I tried to try again the 3.2.12 kernel and it seems to be working just fine
This means nor the xorg driver nor kde are the culprit
How can I see what changed in the kernel .config?
I usually do the following to migrate kernel configurations:
zcat /proc/config.gz
yes "" | make oldconfig

I'm looking into a diff of the two .config files (3.2.12 vs 3.5.7) but I'd really like some hints on what to look for

The alert system of the forum had a glitch and told me there was a (imaginary) reply to this topic
Since I found it out I take the chance to mark it solved

The solution was simple:
I added a flag to the kernel boot parameters
acpi_sleep=nonvs

The flag wasn't present before (when suspension was working) and I'm not able to trace back the change to when it happened
Nevertheless the flag solves the issue
S2R is now working again with every kernel I tested
