Hi,

I've just finishing a new installation on a amd64 laptop and I'd like to keep gnome away from overriding default touchpad(synaptic) as described https://wiki.archlinux.org/index.php/Touchpad_Synaptics#GNOME:

Quote:
Gnome settings daemon may override existing settings (for example ones set in xorg.conf.d) for which there is no equivalent in any of the graphical configuration utilities. It is possible to stop gnome from touching mouse settings at all:
Run dconf-editor
Edit /org/gnome/settings-daemon/plugins/mouse/
Uncheck the active setting
It will now respect your system's existing synaptics configuration.

It's easy to find same or similar explanation in lots of sites. For example: GNOME 3.2 Upgrade Guide:

Quote:
If, for whatever reason, you want to completely prevent GNOME 3 from automatically modifying your mouse and touchpad settings (note that this will also prevent custom input hotplug commands, such as input-device.sh above, from modifying mice and touchpads!), you can run the following:

Code Listing 1.8: Prevent GNOME from managing the mouse and touchpad
$ gsettings set org.gnome.settings-daemon.plugins.mouse active false

I'm currently running a fresh install with gnome 2 and cannot find /org/gnome/settings-daemon/plugins/mouse/ . Result of gsettings is:

Code:
>gsettings set org.gnome.settings-daemon.plugins.mouse active false
No such schema 'org.gnome.settings-daemon.plugins.mouse'

Anyone could help me to find how is this schema created? Any package missing?

Thanks in advance.
