|
|
I have just been through my system getting rid of Gnome 3.4, but in the process I have had some fun with emerge --depclean.
Basically I have some cross compilers installed in slots, and although I have a new version installed, I haven't yet had an opportunity to test it so I don't want to loose the slotted version. --depclean seems to want to remove all but the latest version of slotted packages.
The other package I don't want --depclean to play with is the source for the kernel. Again, I have newer versions installed, but I haven't yet compiled them and don't want to loose the source of the currently installed kernel. Is there a way to tell emerge to leave these types of packages alone?
Thanks, and apologies of I missed something in the man file - I did have a good look!
I should clarify - I am using Portage 2.1.11.9.
