the crackle drowns out 'information'. The few there is.

Vinyl is not 'more lifelike' or 'better'. You are just used to the low quality, you are used to the distortions and think they sound nice.

Vinyl sounds like shit.

4. You’re in a desert walking along in the sand when all of the sudden you look down, and you see a tortoise, it’s crawling toward you. You reach down, you flip the tortoise over on its back. The tortoise lays on its back, its belly baking in the hot sun, beating its legs trying to turn itself over, but it can’t, not without your help. But you’re not helping. Why is that?

Most good sound cards still use I2S DACs, in which case it's very easy to just tap the bus.
How is that done? Are you referring to wires & solder "tap" or something off the shelf?

It's when the water cooling system on your box fails and turns into a water tap, it spills water all over your delicate electronic circuitry. The crackles and pops you hear are similar to the futz that amplified vinyl makes.

I laughed a little when I saw this headline: Why Steve Albini Still Prefers Analog Tape
Quote:
prolific audio engineer and general music industry do-it-all Steve Albini; Albini (who's worked on literally thousands of albums with musicians across a wide range of genres)
