@gg-fan, Welcome to Gentoo. All the instructions you need are in the Gentoo Handbook, including what media to download for a permanent install. Take a look at the Handbook and, if you have any questions, we'll be here. :wink:

Now I have a question because my hard disk has 250 GB. I print fdisk /dev/sda and then 'p'.

Device___Boot__Blocks_____Id__System
/dev/sda1__*___73746351___7__HPFS/NTFS/exFAT
/dev/sda2______67159732+__7__HPFS/NTFS/exFAT
/dev/sda3______92751277+__7__HPFS/NTFS/exFAT
/dev/sda4______10539008___f__W95 Ext'd (LBA)
/dev/sda5______10537984___7__HPFS/NTFS/exFAT

Sda4 and sda5 it is one partition in windows system which has 10.05 GB (disk F). I would like to install gentoo on sda4 /sda5. How can I create properly: 'Boot partition', Swap partition, Root partition :?:

Sda1 -> Boot Windows 7__ (Disk C)
Sda2 -> Windows 7 __ (Disk D)
Sda3 -> Windows 7 __ (Disk E)
Sda4, Sda5 -> Windows 7 (Disk F)

You can delete the 5th partition and create three more for the boot, swap, and root partitions. However, 10GiB is a little small for a fully working Gentoo desktop system. You might want to look into one of the partition shrinking tools to make a little bit more room. As with all such manipulations, good backups before you start are highly recommended.

If it is only for fun/study, install it in a virtualbox inside windows. And give it something like 15G of hard disk space, which should be enough for the foreseeable future.

That's certainly a way to go. For a text only native installation (i.e., no GUI), 15GiB is enough. For a full up desktop, it's a little light, especially if you're going to compile the monsters like Firefox, Thunderbird, or LibreOffice. Depending on options, LibreOffice takes in excess of 8GiB of temporary space, so 30GiB may be a little light. 40 would be fine. The traditional thumb rule for swap is twice the size of your RAM.

Then what you want is a native install as described in the Handbook. :wink:

Now I print fdisk /dev/sda and then 'p'.

Device___Boot__Start______END_______Blocks_____Id__System
/dev/sda1__*___63_________147493764__73746351___7__HPFS/NTFS/exFAT
/dev/sda2______147493764__281812229__67159732+__7__HPFS/NTFS/exFAT
/dev/sda3______281812992__424904703__71545856___7__HPFS/NTFS/exFAT

and...Creating the Boot Partition (http://www.gentoo.org/doc/en/handbook/handbook-x86.xml?part=1&chap=4)

Step 1) 'n'
p primary (3 primary, 0 extended, 1 free)
e extended

Step 2) 'p'
First sector – ENTER
Last sector +32M -> out of range
so...
Step 3) default ENTER -> Partition 4 of type Linux and size 381 KiB is set (why?)

Can somebody give me some useful tips how create: Boot partition, Swap partition, Root partition step by step ? I won't damage my windows system. In my windows 7 now I have:

Sda1 -> Boot Windows 7__ (Disk C) 70,33 BG
Sda2 -> Windows 7 __ (Disk D) 64,05 GB
Sda3 -> Windows 7 __ (Disk E) 68.1 GB
Windows 7 (Disk F) 30.1 GB -> I would like use this one for gentoo

P.S.: No problem, of course, my mistake.
