Hi,

gestern habe ich auf gentoo-3.4.9 upgedated und nvidia-drivers neu gebaut. Seitdem läuft X nicht mehr.

startx gibt folgende Fehlermeldung:

FATAL: Error inserting nvidia (/lib/modules/3.4.9-gentoo/video/nvidia.ko): no such device

Die Datei ist aber vorhanden, größer 0 und aktuell... Auch mit modrobe nvidia bekomme ich mit lsmod keine Modul nvidia gezeigt.

Grafikkarte ist G98 Geforce 8400 GS, nvidia-drivers-295.71, kernel 3.4.9 -> sollte doch passen.

Die Installation habe ich nach dem nvidia-guide überprüft - im Kernel ist nur uvesafb eingerichtet, kein nv, nouveau oder riva...

Woran kann das liegen?

Ergänzung: reboot tut gut -> läuft wieder.... hat die Korrekturen im Kernel nicht eingelesen.
