gscan2pdf gets hung up on pages

I've been trying to use gscan2pdf to fix up some scanned pages. Tried versions 1.0.4 and 1.0.6, both showing the following behaviour.

It's as if it gets hung up on certain pages. No matter if I try to open different files, it still shows the same output!
Example: I open a.pdf. It shows content successfully. I open b.pdf --- but what's shown is actually a.pdf!

I've tried removing temp-files (/tmp/gscan*), rebooting, updating and whatnot.

Anyone?
