On almost all of the linux boxes I've run (always x86 before this), I could switch to a text virtual terminal after X had started by hitting Ctrl-Alt-N where N is the number of the virtual terminal I wanted to acces. Then, Ctrl-Alt-7 got me back. With my new Ultra5 running Gentoo, and GDM/Gnome, I'm unable to get back to text virtual terminals. Is there a way to get back to them after X has started? |

They work the same way. Try the "diamond" key instead of "alt," if that's not working for you. |

Add
Code: |
Option "HandleSpecialKeys" "Always"
To the Server Flags of your XF86Config. |
