Put shotwell-0.11.6 back into official portage tree?

I've been trying to get shotwell 0.12.* to work properly but it's pretty buggy. The main problem is that it can't open the containing folder of a file with nautilus, like this bug says:

I wonder why 0.11.6 was removed from portage when it works perfectly fine. Do dead ebuilds ever make it back into the official tree?

I'll be using this version in a local overlay until the 0.12.* series of shotwell is fixed.

For those of you still using gnome 2.32, shotwell 0.11.6 still uses gtk2 so it might be a better choice for that reason as well.
