Is there (in portage I mean) some *simple* package to monitor server and http services?
Something really stupid like "xymon" to check if a server and apache service are up?
An email warning whould be apreciated too.
Thanks. |

Hi ferreirafm,
thanks for your answer.
I know nmap, but what I really need is a sort of web page usable by ignorant users that can show http and network (ping) status of 4 different servers.
A sort of micro Nagios used to monitor other 4 server.
Nagios is overhelming. I don't need (nor want) such complexity and dont have the time to configure it either (lol, time and especially knoledge to be honest).
Something really stupid such as:
"server 1" -> green ball -> return to sleep.
"server 2" -> red ball -> omg! o-m-g! call the ghostbusters! call someone who knows the difference between bite and byte! |
