Hi,

this problem happened recently, whenever I startx to get into my X session I get the following error:
http://bpaste.net/show/36031/
I have to say my consolekit daemon is running properly.

I would be grateful if someone could help me out here :)

Thanks!

Code:
gnome-session: symbol lookup error: /usr/lib64/gio/modules/libdconfsettings.so: undefined symbol: g_mutex_lock

Sounds like you need to run revdep-rebuild.

A. I already have gnome-base/dconf installed
B. When trying to emerge it, I encounter the same problem: http://bpaste.net/show/36083/

Strange - does this return g_mutex_new :?:
Code:
strings /usr/lib/libgdk-x11-2.0.so.0|grep g_mutex_new

toothpick,

Try to unmerge pidgin
Code:
emerge -C net-im/pidgin

then clear the revdep-rebuild cache
Code:
rm /var/cache/revdep-rebuild/*.rr

then try a sync and update emerge
Code:
eix-sync && emerge -uavDN @world

then do
Code:
revdep-rebuild

then clean your system
Code:
emerge --depclean -p

Be careful with the --depclean

for lack of any brilliant ideas at the moment try to mask chromium and see what happens with the next package
Code:
echo "www-client/chromium" >>/etc/portage/package.mask

toothpick,

I was pondering the same thing VoidMage was :?

For now try just the libs/qt with
Code:
emerge -av $(qlist -IC  x11-libs/qt)
