I can't seem to get dgs compiled my gentoo system. I get the following error message:

My settings are the following:

Code:

I tried with other CFLAGS/CXXFLAGS with lesser optimization to no avail. I'm using 1.3b from stage1 on a pentiumII 400Mhz Notebook, with glibc-2.2.5-r5 and gcc-3.1.1 .

Hope someone can tell me where and how to start debug this ...

thanks and regards

I also found the same problem as above.

"emerge aborting on /usr/portage/app-text/dgs/dgs-0.5.10-r1.ebuild ."

Can anyone tell if this is something important?

Since I'm upgrading from gcc2.95, I gonna mask dsg and try to re-emerge. At least I think I can mask some programs from emerge... Hopefully it still works afterword if it is/was important....?

in other words -bump- to your motha

Bear13: Did you find a solution to the above problem? I even tried older ebuilds of dgs to no avail. Now I can't get imagemagick and gimp-print-cups which seem to depend on dpg installed. Anyone has got a clue how to solve this?

regards.

I'm back...:D(and sorry about the delay... still working through other compile problems... :x)

and here is what I found, yep, dgs is kinda important. Lots of stuff didn't like when it was put in the mask file. 8O

But I did manage to get it to compile.

I ran
Code:

emerge -e system

then
Code:

etc-update

and upated the files found.

Aparently there was a link to 3.1.1 (or callout for, dont remember which)and what the compiler really wanted was a link to 3.1, and updating the system files found that problem.

After all that I was able to
Code:

emerge dgs

without a problem. 8) I now have a problem with imagemagick and perl-post_pkg_setup, but I found another post which describes how to change some file callouts to fix that.

I hope that helps.
