Hello,recently I have installed the gnome but now i wanna get rid of it totally and install xfce instead.i dont exactly know how to do that.i have made necessary changes in the make.conf and then used the commands

emerge --update --deep --newuse world
emerge --depclean
revdep-rebuild

respectively.did i do ok or not?

Hi, you should try this :

Code:

# nano /var/lib/portage/world


Delete each entry that you see that has gnome-base or something similar.

After that, run this :

Code:

# emerge --depclean  -a
# revdep-rebuild -i
