PostPosted: Sat Jul 07, 2012 5:33 am    Post subject: Very odd issues with Cando touchscreen Reply with quote

So I recently came upon a Lenovo S10-3t for a very low price, and even though it's a relatively old model, I figured it was a steal. So I got the laptop and to my pleasant surprise, absolutely everything on the laptop is supported under Linux (according to Google anyway). I have finally got most things set up, however, I am having some very odd issues with the touchscreen. Although I have managed to get the touch screen to work, I have had a lot of issues with trying to change some of the options with evdev, the current driver I am using. For one, there is an option so that when you press your finger in a certain spot on the screen for a certain amount of time, it will do a right click, this is supposed to be easily activated by adding:
Code:
Option "EmulateThirdButton" "on"

To the appropriate InputClass section in a file in /etc/X11/xorg.conf.d/ . I have done so, and according to the Xorg log it is setting the property, however it does not seem to actually work.
In addition, I am also having a very strange problem with Xfce and my touch screen that I think may be a bug, but I wanted to try and find a solution first before putting a report on bugzilla. Window borders in Xfwm seem to be completely unresponsive when I use my touch screen. I cannot close a window, drag it, etc. The borders do not react whatsoever when I tap them on the touch screen. However, if I use my laptop's touchpad, they work just fine. So far, this is the only part of my DE that has done this to me.
I have looked all over and gone into both the Xorg IRC channel and Gentoo IRC channel but to no avail, so I hope that someone here may be able to help.
Here is the contents of /etc/X11/xorg.conf.d/05-evdev.conf:
Code:
#
# Catch-all evdev loader for udev-based systems
# We don't simply match on any device since that also adds accelerometers
# and other devices that we don't really want to use. The list below
# matches everything but joysticks.

Section "InputClass"
        Identifier "evdev pointer catchall"
        MatchIsPointer "on"
        MatchDevicePath "/dev/input/event*"
        Driver "evdev"
EndSection

Section "InputClass"
        Identifier "evdev keyboard catchall"
        MatchIsKeyboard "on"

        Driver "evdev"

        Identifier "evdev touchpad catchall"
        MatchIsTouchpad "on"
        MatchDevicePath "/dev/input/event*"
        Driver "evdev"
EndSection

Section "InputClass"
        Identifier "evdev tablet catchall"
        MatchIsTablet "on"
        MatchDevicePath "/dev/input/event*"
        Driver "evdev"
EndSection

Section "InputClass"
        Identifier "evdev touchscreen catchall"
        MatchIsTouchscreen "on"
        MatchDevicePath "/dev/input/event*"
        Driver "evdev"
   Option "EmulateThirdButton" "on"
   Option "EmulateThirdButtonTimeout" "750"
   Option "EmulateThirdButtonMoveThreshold" "40"
EndSection

And here is the contents of the xorg log:
