Hi, for some reason I don't see any options anywhere in KDE 4 to allow my system to hibernate. Specifically I want KDE to go in to hibernation when I close the lid on my laptop and the system is not plugged into an electrical outlet.

In the System Settings -> Power Management -> Energy Saving, Settings On Battery Tab
Under When laptop lid closed, I don't see any options of hibernation

Thanks for you help. I have pm-utils installed and it works properly but that is not my problem. The problem is that KDE does not give any options to use these features.

Bump, so I guess no one knows how to fix this? Right now I have my laptop to go to sleep mode when I close the lid, unfortunately that drains the battery.

Looking over my system not I am starting to think it may have something to do with the fact that I do not have a swap partition =/

Success! Once I enabled the swap partition KDE automatically enabled the ability to start hibernation.
