My hardware is a Rampage IV extreme lga2011
I7 3960X CPU
64GB DDR2400 Gskill memory
I don't believe this was a problem on the previous hardware. Maybe I need to build usb support into kernel?

Ok, what I am seeing is that alt f1 will switch it but not f2

Could this have anything to do with grub2?

Solved by building usb support into kernel and not as modules
