Does anyone still have any i686/i586 binaries up? BMG only has Pentium builds and my Athlon isn't an XP.

Is it possible to add the Native Widget Framework into the ebuilds as a patch so as to get good looking gtk2 widgets in openoffice?

Kewl, I never knew that existed :D It would be very nice to have native widgets in my OO. I could wait another 9-hour compile for that :lol:

Hi!
when I try to run OpenOffice I get this:
Code:
Gnome session manager detected - session management disabled
running openoffice.org setup...
setup failed.. abort

yes, I did
1.) to erase ~/.openoffice and ~/.sversionrc .
--> I don't even have dose directories or files!

2.) to
Code:
ln -s /opt/Ximian-OpenOffice /opt/OpenOffice.org

--> Done that as root, didn't help.

so I manuely ran /opt/OpenOffice.org/program/setup.bin and got this error:
Code:
./setup.bin: error while loading shared libraries: libsb645li.so: cannot open shared object file: No such file or directory

how do I get that shared object file?

Thanks!

Just built openoffice-ximian-1.1.48 with
Code:
USE="ccache offensive prelink open-gl svg jpeg X gtk gtk2 nvidia dvd arts kde qt pam ssl vorbis ogg oggenc cups crypt postfix -gpm -gnome -alsa -3dnow -emacs -joystick -lirc -matrox -bonobo -fax -foreign-package -mozilla -radeon -rage128 -scanner -xinerama -zeo"
and Cflags
Code:
CFLAGS="-march=pentium4 -O2 -pipe -mmmx -msse -msse2 -mfpmath=sse -fforce-addr -fomit-frame-pointer -funroll-loops -frerun-loop-opt -frerun-cse-after-loop -falign-functions=4 -fexpensive-optimizations"
CXXFLAGS="${CFLAGS}"

Probably throws most if not all of those out :) Has quick load times and works fast (well faster than other builds i've used on my computer). But nevertheless I can still upload the build if someone points me to the way. PM me or email me with a host.

Awesome :) I just spent a whole day last week compiling and not being able to use my computer. Oh well, now I have something to look foreward to. When I get around to it, i'll post again when its built, then I can upload it for shareing somewhere. It'll be for a P4, with the unstable open-ssl (or the newest one in portage)

Can someone point me to the binary package of one of the latest version for athlon-xp compiled with support for all languages or at least for Italian?

TIA

p.s. the only version I had been able to find was 1.1.0 but I read about many improvements in latest releases.

What is at the moment the most up-to-date version, suka? Yours or the one in portage?

BTW: Didn't I see some time ago a r4 version (and a coming r5 version) also somewhere on the forum (in the seperate threads) or am I wrong? :D

Thx suka and pauld for your efforts! I've had a lot of joy from the ximianized openoffice for some time now (except for the last week: I lost my system, I'm now recompiling, nothing to do with oo ofcourse). :wink: 8)

Just try
Code:
LANGUAGE=55 emerge openoffice-ximian

The righ key is LANGUAGE=55 (change 55 for your code area)
without quotes
