Hello, I'm pretty new in the gentoo world so don't kill me for stupid questions.

I'm try to emerge som utils, (tcpkill, nmap, etc.), but when i tried to emerge this utils, i got error messages on missing USE flags, so i desided to add these to make.conf.

After I updated make.conf, I try to update with the new use flags.

Code:
emerge --update --deep --newuse world

I hope someone can help me with this problem, so I maybe understand the error handeling in gentoo. I have done som research about pm-utils, and found out it's for hibernate and suspend komputer, what i don't need, so the question is which packed ned pm-utils? Can i unmerge it?

And one more question, what's is differences between "emerge world" and "emerge gentoo"?

'emerge gentoo' would do something else than you think it would and the problem is generic, not pm-utils related - you've got the clock set wrong.
