With kde when there is a local console termal or an active ssh session from an computer kde stops the shutdown presents the abort active sessions dialogue instead of shutting down the computer. If I tell the computer to shutdown then walk away I want it to turn off and not abort because of some console session that has been sitting idle for the last 12+ hours that I had forgotten about.

With 4.8.1 I patched kdm to shutdown regardless but it seems cleaner if there is an option somewhere to turn this behaviour off so shutdown really means shutdown. In 4.8.3 is there such an option?

Haven't tried it myself, but I wonder if KShutdown would do it?

Having a play and found kshutdown -s will turn the computer off where the normal kde shutdown is refusing to.
