Recently i found the net-im/kde-telepathy-meta ebuild and wanted to give it a try. I added keywords for all its dependencies and successfully emerged the packages. Here's my the of packages that got installed:

Code:
net-libs/telepathy-qt-0.9.1  USE="-debug -farsight (-farstream) -test"
net-libs/telepathy-glib-0.18.1  USE="introspection vala -debug -test"
net-im/ktp-common-internals-0.3.1  USE="(-aqua) -debug"
net-im/telepathy-mission-control-5.12.0  USE="upower -gnome-keyring -networkmanager"
net-im/ktp-accounts-kcm-0.3.1  USE="(-aqua) -debug"
net-im/ktp-filetransfer-handler-0.3.1  USE="(-aqua) -debug"
net-im/ktp-auth-handler-0.3.1  USE="(-aqua) -debug"
net-im/ktp-kded-module-0.3.1  USE="(-aqua) -debug"
net-im/ktp-contact-list-0.3.1  USE="(-aqua) -debug"
net-im/ktp-approver-0.3.1  USE="(-aqua) -debug"
net-im/ktp-contact-applet-0.3.1  USE="(-aqua) -debug"
net-im/ktp-presence-applet-0.3.1  USE="(-aqua) -debug"
net-im/ktp-send-file-0.3.1  USE="(-aqua) -debug"
net-im/ktp-text-ui-0.3.1  USE="(-aqua) -debug"
net-im/kde-telepathy-meta-0.3.1

Unfortunately, I can't get it working. Every time I'm opening the telepathy system controls or the contact list I get the following message:

Quote:
Something went terribly wrong and the IM system could not be initialized.
It is likely your system is missing Telepathy Mission Control package. Please install it and restart this module

I checked twice for Telepathy Mission Control and also re-emerge net-im/telepathy-mission-control but the message still shows up.

I also checked various posts from my favorite search engine but I haven't found a solution so far.
Is anyone using kde-telepathy successfully? Is there anything more I need to do to install it?

Thanks
stickstoff

I had to enable the "gnome-keyring" USE Flag on the "net-im/telepathy-mission-control" for this to go away if I remember right.

You might also want to try the just released 0.4.0 kde-telepathy version from the kde overlay. the 0.3.1 is not really useful for anything.

I switched to 0.4 from the KDE overlay which didn't solve the issue yet, but enabling 'gnome-keyring' USE flag for net-im/telepathy-mission-control did. It pulled in some more packages:
Code:
gnome-base/orbit-2.14.19-r1
gnome-base/gconf-2.32.4
gnome-base/gnome-keyring-2.32.1-r1
gnome-base/libgnome-keyring-2.32.0

It's working now though.

Thanks Dorsai!
