Hello, how can the appearance of http://www.landcroft.co.uk/pix/window.png best be reproduced in KDE 4 ? Specifically, the appearance of the buttons and scrollbars, and the vertical graduation of the menu. It's the polycarbonate theme.

Technically XFCE has no 'themes', they are actually GTK themes. You can use QT's gtk emulation and use the GTK theme that claws-mail uses (since claws-mail is a gtk app).

You are partly correct, but xfwm4 is part of the Xfce desktop environment, and xfwm4 displays the window borders with xfwm4 specific themes (also visible in the link he gave)

There's a minor catch though - that so called 'QT's gtk emulation' (more precisely qgtkstyle) relies on quite a few libs, that went out of use awhile ago (libgnome among them, IIRC), so it's often no longer working correctly.

I disagree, look at the ebuild:

gtkstyle? ( glib )
gtkstyle? ( x11-libs/gtk+:2[aqua=] ) (duh! )

eerror "When building qt-gui[gtkstyle] from scratch with cairo present,"
eerror "cairo must have the qt4 use flag disabled, otherwise the gtk"
eerror "style cannot be built."

Which one of gtk, glib or cairo are outdated?
