I have gentoo 1.2 with gcc 2.95 running great under vmware, I plan on performing a real install on my computer this weekend. Should I use 1.3 with gcc 3.1 or should I stick with 1.2 and gcc 2.95.

any opinions would be appreciated.

I've been using 1.3b (installed using 1.3a ISO with 1.3b tarballs) for a couple of weeks now, and it seems to be pretty usable.

I've only come across a few minor glitches when emerging stuff, but hey, that's what these forums are for ;)

Plus there is (potentially) a speed boost for some apps w/ GCC 3.1, especially for newer processors.
