info about root.img

Hi people, i'v successfully build a cross-toolchain for sparc in my x86 system, and with this, successfully build a sparc-kernel, i would like build a tftpboot.img like specified in makefile in linux-2.4.20/arch/sparc/boot.

Editing the makefile i'v notice the requirement of root.img ( elftoaout is not a problem) but google and others method cant give me some info.

Someone in the list could point me to some info about howto build root.img for sparc32 system?
