Hi guys,
I'm a Slackware user and I was going to try Gentoo, but when I try to compile the kernel during the installation using genkernel I get this error

How can I solve this? If i try to compile the kernel by myself it gets even worse! :cry: [/i]

This looks like a compiler error rather than a genkernel error.

Can you post your make.conf file? Also some hardware information would be of assistance. What Processor and how much memory do you got.

It's not a compile error, it's definitely genkernel related. But there's at a minimum 4 other threads about this on the front page of this sub-forum.

Simple answer is to upgrade genkernel, ie unmask the ~arch keyword and reemerge. Then run genkernel and it'll work.

Definitely. In previous genkernel versions I had to set
Code:
CONFIG_FEATURE_MOUNT_NFS=y

to
Code:
CONFIG_FEATURE_MOUNT_NFS=n

in '/usr/share/genkernel/defaults/busy-config' to have it successfully compile.

In recent versions the NFS option is just not set at all anymore.
