Hi everybody,

I had an issue with my OfficeJet R45 and hplip-3.12.4.

The scanner was recognized correctly by 'scanimage -L' but 'scanimage -T' brought me "Device busy". Any other scanning tool (e.g. xsane, skanlite) didn't go further than the device-search-window - they either didn't start fully (skanlite) or told me that the device was busy (xsane). It didn't matter either as a normal user or as root.

The scanner worked fine some time ago so I searched the web and the forums without finding something useful. So I tested different versions of sane-backends and other things.
Finally it was hplip-3.12.4 that caused the trouble. After downgrading to hplip-3.11.10 the scanner does it job again.

So, should I open up a bug or might there something else gone wrong with my system that creates this unholy coalition with hplip-3.12.4 but not with hplip-3.11.10?

Greetings from Franconia,
Andy

P.S.: There's also something funny but not really serious: The OfficeJet R45 is recognized as a R40  This is since the first day but besides that it works just fine.
